What is a Domain Name?
Posted by Alpha Daramy on 18 January 2008 07:18 PM

A domain name is a unique name that identifies an Internet web site. It is actually a text address (or alias) that corresponds to the numeric IP (Internet Protocol) address of each web site on the Internet.  Instead of typing in an IP address to the web browser to reach a web site, we can type in the domain name.  For example, dailyrazor.com is the domain name of this web site.
