Which of the two – VPS or shared server – is more secure, and why?

A Virtual Private Server is more secure than a shared server. Though you share CPU, memory, and network connectivity, you do not share the same file system. So, if someone else's virtual server gets hacked, your virtual server still remains safe because it has a different file system. Your account is more vulnerable to hacking or a virus attack on a shared system because all the sites share the same file system.
